How I was murdered in my own home and lived to pay for it.

New World DisOrder Of Non Computing:

Trends, problems, frauds, and other debacles defining what is wrong with the "State Of The Computer Art" as of today.

In other words why your current methodologies and implementations are doomed to fail.

You have created a zombie apocalypse of computer idiots who don't know the first thing about computers. Talking to you tells me this.

You have brainwashed all the people with the money and those pretending to do the work with the notion you can program everything in Java and 4GL or above languages.

By that you claim nobody needs to know how computers really work.

People like me who design hardware and kernel level software know you are wrong. You will never boot a machine or architecture or field interrupts from devices from ROM based JAVA or 4GL, ever. Not all the world is a cell phone and you won't boot the ARM processor cores or set up the I/O a phone does that way either, you have to talk to me first to do that.

The end result is you are getting systems that used to work more reliably 15 years ago designed with new features that make them slower, less reliable, and only offer cute animations to seem more clever than before. It seems cult like and big brotheresque.

Windows Vista, Windows 7, and most of all Windows 8 offers nothing to improve the user experience, make it faster, more reliable or offer anything new over Windows NT or 2000. Linux/GCC had 64 bit code long before Windows did and most computer experts won't know why you need it or what makes it better or worse for any design.

You are being sold on magic which is not and you in the end consume hardware resources that are at least 1,000 times more capable than they were ten years ago. And waste all of it doing nothing.

This is a HUGE FRAUD!

Windows itself has become larger, slower, less reliable and suffers all the same ills that Windows systems have had all along:

Installing a version of Microsoft word, basically a text editor, almost ten years ago and seeing it consume over 4 GIGABYTE of disk space had me fall on the floor laughing. Some of my system disks were of course smaller than 2 gig long ago and did all I ever needed to do and I use a computer far more completely than you ever will. I demand far more from computing resources than you ever could.

Windows is impossible to maintain, Windows places log files, temporary files, user data, configuration data, all over the place in 100s of different folders that any rational person would never waste time chasing around.

This continues to happen for each day you use the system and your number of useless files and useless data grows in a monotonically increasing fashion ad infinitum. All thanks to the design of Windows.

Every time you turn around some application such as web browser, the operating system itself, has decided to patch itself and changed how it works.

It takes over three applications including a script I wrote myself to purge log files from a Windows 7 or 8 system. The Windows 8 based app no longer works properly and my new Windows 8.1 machine refused to load web pages properly where all those pages loaded fine under Win 7 and before. And still do. You shipped me a product that did not work.

If you had told me in 2000 that you need over 1 Gigabyte of physical memory to host a web browser I'd laugh you out of my office. Today I'd do the same thing.

The registry. Another abortion of logic and design that has applications constantly scribble useless data into a system file that never gets trimmed. The kernel uses it to modify and configure the running system images and tasks you run on the system. A bad design with a bad implementation.

Eventually you will HAVE to fix this since you rely too much on Microsoft and even though Bill Gates is already out of the picture, this train wreck of a company is telling you things are only going to get worse, not better.

You are being ripped off and lied to. And I've seen this gotten much worse in just the last 5 years. There is a trend and I don't like it.

I can go on about other flaws of Windows, there are many and they are hard to keep track of so maybe another time..... but lo and behold you had to change and ruin the one thing that did work, copy and paste has been modified in Windows 8 for no good reason. Congrats on that.
